Is there any chance that there's something out there that would allow me to "glue" up my shifter boot rubber so it's not all broken? Or some way to rehab it?

;) yeah if you want to just buy new, but what's the fun in that? :p:

Jerry and Joe, sounds like a couple of bouncers...but fortunately I know Jerry so I think I'm in...I guess I didn't realize it was that cheap, kinda assumed it was unobtanium or something...

I have used Shoe-Goo (the shoe-sole repair stuff sold at Garts in a squeeze tube) to repair vinyl bumpers, shifter boots, etc. Get the surface very clean first. I haven't used it on CV boots - that might be asking too much ;-).
