View Full Version : Perseids Meteor Shower, Aug 12 & 13

Time to leave civilization behind!

Prime viewing tonight, and the peak will be tomorrow night, ~1am to ~5am.

Approximately 50-60 per hour are expected. Look to the Constellation Perseus, in the north eastern quadrant of the sky.

The new moon should create optimal viewing conditions this year, as the sky should be dark.

Also, don't forget to check out the total lunar eclipse around dawn on Aug 28th.

Check it out! :thumb:

I saw a half dozen last night on my drive home from Colorado. It was dark last night.
