What needs to happen if i wanted to put my 40 on a dolly? Do i need to disconnect drive shafts? What about using one of those tow bars?
Thanks

it is recommended that you remove the rear driveline for towing. stuff doesn't get oiled right for some reason and you risk blowing up pinion/tcase.

Yeah, you have to disconnect the rear driveshaft. If you have manual hubs in front, just unlock 'em.

If you're going to flat tow (with a tow bar), disconnect the battery and leave the key in ACC or ON so the steering will track.

I hadn't seen this thread pop up.....I'm wondering what has changed in the 40 and split cases in the last year? I guess everyone in a 40 must have switched to chain drive cases or Dana 300's?
