Seriously though I've decided to stay with the 22RE and need to get this done ASAP. I'm looking for a nice 22RE and have someone install it for me? Not having any luck with some of the websites finding one. You know of someone that has one and can install it, please have them get in touch with me........303-549-7270 Like to stay under 3k...

Yes, I talked with "Mike" and he has my number and what I'm looking for.
Do you or anyone else know about this shop in Golden(atlrllc) owned by a guy name Jesse? He gets his rebuilds from that Toy Shop in Colorado Springs that rebuilds 22RE's.........Installed $2,500 is what they advertise on CL.

I've heard of him - IIRC it was good, have not heard anything bad. Ask for references and go for it! You might also ping the other Toy forums and CO4x4.

I'm guessing you are talking about APR auto. I bought one of their short blocks for my new Runner. I did get a referral from someone on CO4x4. 2 year warranty. Can't say much yet as I have probably 5 miles on it. I did talk to their engine rebuilder and he seemed to be quite knowledgeable.

Long blocks for $1195. w/ $300 core.

Im pretty sure that if you want a built built high horsepower 22re you end up needing to go with a programmable fuel injection system. I'd check into that before you have some build you a hot motor and install it. I'd call LC engineering, they are quite knowledgeable. Also CTS (Colorado Toyota Specialists) in Conifer would be very helpful.

Just throwing out my peanuts worth of knowledge so he didn't have to soak up another grand on an efi management system. I'm pretty sure that even past 150 horse you have to some type of modification to the stock system to utilize it (ie higher flowing injectors etc.) I used to have a buddy named Pat that worked at Foothills Automotive (in Arvada I think) and he built a little 22re that blew his brothers 3.0 out of the water. I'll see if I can contact him, if he still works there, they have the capability to do it all for you and to your liking, although it won't be cheap.

Pat still works for Bill at Mile high perfromance. They are off Ward in Wheatridge. Mile high does alot of cool work on Diesels and other stuff. They recently have gotten into Cryo parts and Stuff. Just ask Uncle Ben. They do most of my stuff as well(1fz mill work). I done a few 22r's in the past. Just do not have the time currently. It is not hard to build one that will do 150 hp at sea level. It is another to have those ponies at the elevations we have here. later Robbie

I didn't expect or to be realistic about seeing a 350HP 22RE. There are cheaper ways to achieve that HP. However, I would like to find a nice rebuilt, reman. 22RE installed for under 3k. Even at 150HP at sea level, not going to help up here at 10,300ft.........
Let me know if anyone has suggestions for someone to install a 22RE for me.......
