looking for a decent 22re head, preferr cheap, I plan on getting it rebuilt.

something not warped or cracked, etc, anyone got one laying around?

really, I thought they were more like 600?? I figured have an old one re-machined and save some cash, but for 450 with an RV cam that might not be a bad way to go !

Isn't your ride an 84? I thought the carb and EFI heads 84 and up were the same, just needed the electronics moved over and the intake/etc?

its an 85, and yes, they are supposed to be interchangeable. I think somewhere along the way an old style head got put on, because it is definatley not compatible with EFI. A friend is a whiz at wiring, and will decipher the harness for beer, so I am off to find a head. Figure I will put in a new timing chain, and a water pump.

Two shots at rock pile last week to make it, six tries this week and somehow made it, almost flipped over backward since it bogs and dies out on climbs. I figure the extra power and response will make it a one shotter everytime :)

arp in colorado springs (toyota car parts), has pretty cheep prices on stuff..

i put one of the $295.00 heads on my Brothers truck for a DD..

And My friend put an Engnblder RV head/ Cam on his 22re.. that with the larger Throttle body from LC and his truck runs VERY well with 35's and 5.29's
