I'm thinking about trying to get some new seats in the 40 before CM08. What have you used? What works good but won't break the bank? I'm sure my passenger would appreciate a 5-point harness. :)

That's a great pic. :thumb:

I'm using old Recaro seats from the bone yard out of a late 80's Mustang GT. :o They are very very comfortable, fit really well and look good in the 40. More comfortable than my stock 60 seats too. One of the best upgrades you can do to a 40 IMHO.

Pretty good color match, too. :D Yeah, you should let Hulk have that pic for the POTW on www.tlca.org. :)

LOL, hants is crazy,

I put in some sweet seats out of a SAAB, they where very nice Leather, and fit well but after 2 summers of wheeling out in the elements they are trashed!

Im just going to spend the cash and get some nice suspension seats from PRP..

My cruiser is garaged and somewhat babied, but these are Saab 93 leather seats that I run in my 40. If I had to do it over again, I would find the convertible versions with the optional seat heaters! :D

The convertable ones flip forward and have built in seat belts, find them with seat heaters and I think they are perfect.

FWIW, I have had mine in the cruiser for about 3 years now.

Hope it helps

He has it (if that is the one I took) but I'm not sure what he ever did with it  - That was a great moment on Poison Spider Mesa. I have my 4 year old on tape asking "Is he stuck?" :lmao:

As for seats Leif, I've got a set of XR sport (http://www.cerullo.com/sportsSeats/xr.php) seats in my 40 (I think that is what they are) and I like them. They have the slots for 5 point harnesses if you go that route.

Things to consider IMO are a mount for the seats (I have this (http://store.btbprod.com/detail.aspx?ID=408) from BTB) and the function of the seats. As much as I like my seats I would prefer some that fold forward or lift up and forward for easier access to the rear of the 40, especially when the hard top it on. My little ones typically bang their noggins on the roll cage trying to climb between the seats to get into the back :o

Jeff - That is your pic.

What ever I go with, I would like to get a couple more inches of legroom out of the deal.

I had Isuzu trooper II in my 40 fabric so not to sticky when hot. A couple pieces of 1" angle with a couple holes drilled was all it took to fit them.

That's the beauty of custom seats. You can mount them however you want. Mine mounted several inches back and a little lower than stock. Unfortunately for my wife, they don't adjust, so she can't reach the pedals in the 40. ;)
