I will forward this to one of our friends. She has a son with autism.

I'm in a small town in Idaho and we have a need for specialized out of school care for some of kids with these challenges. I see them all as I teach at the school with the "Special Design" program. So I can only imagine the need for such services in the Denver area would be much higher.

I expect that to be the case but research needs to be done. The care that exists appears to be primarily in-home care which is not always the best. My daughter is a gifted and compassionate woman who maintains the idealism that all children deserve top-quality care and educational opportunities regardless of the severity of their disability.
If the need does exist we will work towards opening something ourselves.

In our town, we have a group called Community Partners and they take on some of these kids. They travel with them during school sometimes and they provide after school pickup and some after school activities. The activities vary depending upon the child's needs. I'm not sure how it is funded but the people are all paid, it isn't just volunteers.

My daughter is legally blind, I could ask some of the admin. around her if they have any CO. area groups, If you think it would be beneficial.
Good luck to your daughter, Its a noble practice.
