I have driven the SCCA 2.5L naturally assperated winning car in Atlanta. It was a Subaru 2.5rs, kevlar skid plates front to rear, and 4" of ride hieght adjustment. It was a :hoot:, but it was on pavement not dirt, which I think would be figgin' amazing! :D

I rode with some of the Subaru pro drivers during a Subaru training event in Phoenix. Not the rally cars but the new at the time, 2005 Legacy GT turbo's. Closed course on pavement at the raceway.

Those guys can drive. I almost put one into a wall :o

I wish I'd been working for Subaru when the STi came out. The training event for that in 04 was legendary I heard. They burned through 70 sets of tires during the week for "salesperson training".

I always wanted a Volvo 142 rally car from the early 70's. Almost as much character as a 40. :thumb:

When I was freshman in college in da U.P. there were rally races on the forest roads and you could volunteer to be a "corner man". You would essentially stand in dangerous corners and point for the drivers to let them know which way to turn. Fun spectating, and I imagine it would be a blast to drive.

Hey Nakman, remember wipeout hill last year?

In September 2007 I took my European sales team to Leipzig Germany, toured the Porsche factory (http://www.porsche-leipzig.com/en/leipzigangebote/leipzigpilot/id13/infos.aspx), and we all drove 911s on the FIA approved F1 track behind a professional driver:thumb::thumb:

This is one of the coolest things I have ever done.

I had the good fortune of being the co-pilot for a SCCA rally down by Silvercliff CO years back. It was a 12 hour race that started at 3pm and ended at 3am. It was truly a blast. I still remember hauling down a two track at 120mp at 2am and hitting a huge jackrabbit in the middle of the road.

No but I took a full day at the Bridgestone Ice Driving school in Steamboat a couple years ago. Really fun day, and at the end the instructor takes you out for a couple hot laps. I was only a passenger, but riding as she took these corners (they groom and ice down the track every night) at 80mph+, that I had been struggling with at 35-40, was one of the most fun automotive moments of my life. I highly recommend that school.
