We have a 1985 FJ60 that belonged to a customer that we are selling for $4k. The truck was rolled, so the body is trashed, that is the bad news, the good news is that about 2 months before it was rolled we did a ton of work on the truck. It has the following

Brand new OME suspension
Brand new from Toyota 5 Speed Tranny
Transfercase rebuilt at the same time.
Motor was rebuilt, but we did not do it.
Man-a-Fre 40 Gallon extended range gas tank.

We have about $7400 of receipts from us alone. That does not include the motor work. I can get the receipts on that as well. The was a one owner truck.

It has new BFG at's on it with black teflon coated wheels.

The title is clean, so this would be an awsome project for someone to do a body swap on. As soon as the weather clears out, I will take some pics.

I might be interested.

Did the roll over damage the suspension/axles? Does it run?

It does run and we could not see any damage to the axles or frame. No Guarantees, but it was a roll into a snow bank and then onto the roof.

The 80 could use the super rare FJ60 dual cup holder. I hope it survived the wreck. That is all I need;)

Christo are you parting it out? I think Chris (frontrange4x4) is looking for a 5 speed for his 62. Just a thought.

We will try to sell it as a whole truck first.

I can use the whole drive train. Plus the lift would be a nice addition. I'm trying to decide if the amount of work required to swap all of the parts is worth it on my rig and if the :Princess: will let me do any more work on our 60. I'll let you know. Is the vehicle at your shop for me to stop and look it over? I work in Golden.

Yes, it is parked in the container in the back. This a clean truck with clean frame. I would swap a good body onto it. Much less work.

Thanks for thinking of me Drew but the logistics aren't working. Too bad mine didn't blow in Denver instead of Grand Junction. BTW, it's on the rack at Safari right now. Hugh says the tranny fluid is stinking his shop but motor oil is nice and clean.

Martin,

Go for it! It's worth it just for the tranny! The OME is great too of course.

We can see how the 5 speed 3F compares to the 5 speed 3FE. ;)

I'll buy the gas tank from you! :thumb:

Chris, according to the MAF website the part #s differ between the tanks of the 60 and 62.

I'm still trying to justify the cost to my wife. It's wrecked, and costs almost as much as we paid for our clean, running 60. I want to combine it with my 60 which would be a perfect match with that drivetrain and lift. But putting another $4000 towards a 60 is a tough call since no one seems to feel they are worth anything compared to 40's, 80's etc.

I'm working on it. Keep me posted to the status. :thumb:

I could use the tires and cat back exaust if it did get parted out.

I recently bought a cat-back exhaust unit for my '85 from Stevinson. If I recall, it was under $150 including the crush gasket and two rubber isolator/hangers.

Christo,

I may know a friend that may go in on it with me. I have a few questions. What size tire and wheel combo is on the rig? Do you anything about the suspension? Could I modify it or my truck to fit it on a BJ44? It is essentially a F/HJ45/47suspension.

I will be down in Denver both tomorrow and this weekend. Let me know a good time to come by. Is the truck driveable?

Thanks!

Kraig

I purchased the truck and am parting it out. Let me know if you need anything. I have posted a thread on Mud with prices. Would love to sell everything locally so speak up!

Thanks

Corbet, they are yours. You need both? I will be able to get them by early next week. Anything else you want dibs on? I was thinking around 500 for the tank if you want.

Thanks!
