I'm in Vancouver, B.C. tonight and wanted to try connecting node to node on IRLP from Node 1000 (http://www.irlp.net/) to Node 3286 (http://www.wa2yzt.com/WA2YZT/Welcome.html) in Golden. Anyone around? There is a long ragchew on the local repeater going on at the moment so I can't call CQ now...:)

I could also try in the morning if someone wants to set up a Sked.:thumb:

Shall I try again? I'll do it now, no one is on the repeater.

3286 Node is in use...I'll monitor it online.

I guess I gotta key in the irlp which I didn't do.. Some guy hopped on and key'd up las vegas to see what was happenin. Between trying to figure this out and trying to catch my kid at the end of the block a half dozen times i'm worn out. :( I still got some reading to do on this radio. It was fun though

:) Wes,
You just have to listen for me calling you. I initiate the link from Vancouver. I have it figured now. If you can hit the repeater at wa2yzt (http://www.wa2yzt.com/WA2YZT/Welcome.html) we can QSO.:thumb:

I'll check now...

The link on Wa2yzt is still active. If no one is QSO'ing then key up, wait three seconds and type 7 3 on your DTMF pad and it will close the link (its rude not to close the link).

Update: there is a big cross linked ragchew going on and I have to go to dinner. I'll try later.

It was pretty interesting. He had a bunch of reflectors cross linked and included all of Canada, as well as Alaska and the western US. You can see where nodes and reflectors are linked here (http://www.irlp.net/), and also download an application for Google Earth from the IRLP site that allows you to see the link connections and query them. Very cool!:thumb:

Jeff you get a rude awakening????!!!

From the denver channel.com
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- A 6.1 earthquake was recorded Thursday morning 293 miles WNW from Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

It was the largest of a number of earthquakes reported in the immediate area during the past 24 hours.

An unusually large swarm of tremors has rocked the ocean floor off the west coast of Vancouver Island in the past 30 days.

There were no immediate reports of damage
