Mine is connected to my pedal. I would suggest a brake lever rather than a ratcheting lever unless you need sustained fast idle. Another thought would be to have a dash mounted version that ratchets, and a GS mounted version that goes back to idle when you let go.

Where can I get the stock dash mounted hand throttle?

I thought that was a diesel thing and I would have to get it from Austraila to fit my SURF.

My name is Mike and am new to Rising Sun forum[logged on about a month
ago] to try to get ideas to build toy once without all the trial and error.
Having never driven a stock toy I purchased a 86 4-runner and traded my Blazer for a lot of work...SAS 3inch front/4inch rear,5.29 ARB in rear dual transfer case, winch bumper front, tire carrier rear bumper, full roll cage
[changed mind to rear cage only] Theres other stuff in there but my mind is blank. I have been trying to catch a meeting, but again work interferes.
Lifes just not fair! Thanks for all the help will try to get to Toyota to see
if OE will work on 4-runner.

ThankYou and love the KM2 Very quiet on such a light truck grip very well even at street preasure, still to early to judge wearability this is dual purpose rig.

Factory Toyota for a 1st gen Runner

New Part #'s

The cable: #7840189107 $42.33
The nut to hold the cable to the dash: #9017011006 $0.24
The knob for the end of the cable: #7841189103 $6.36

You'll have to fab the bracket on the gas pedal

Oh my.

That is the exact design I used for my hand throttle. Except I did not add the bracket on the gas pedal; I slotted the existing cable mount point and allowed the hand throttle cable to 'slide' as you press the gas. Then when you operate the hand throttle, your pedal goes down a bit.

Hey Brian, you are a hard man to get ahold of. You don't get PMs and I couldn't leave a voice mail! About your 4.88s...

'Tain't at work. :lmao:
Seems I use 2M on the trail... and not much else. Mostly because I hardly drive anymore.
<edit: Brian got ahold of me. Back to our regularly scheduled hand throttle program...>
