We have friends with a 1984 FJ60 that will not pass the emissions test and they would really like to put it up for sale but the lack of a clean emissions test is keeping them from doing so. I have looked it over and reattached several of the vacuum lines and I have some ideas, but I don't have the time to deal with it myself like I would if it were my own. The biggest problem seems to be that the mechanic they relied on for years is no longer around and they have only found bad ones recently that cost them a lot of money without fixing the problem. If anyone can suggest a good route to take to get this thing repaired for them we would appreciate it. They live in the Kipling/Alameda area. If anyone is looking for a nice FJ60 and wouldn't mind dealing with the emissions problem themselves, I would think this might be a good deal for them.
