I try to avoid stepping into the urinal.....

Yeah, they're not for every situation - but they've come in handy many times. So many times that I'm on my 2nd pair, wore out the soles on the first. In actual use a flexible flip-flop sole doesn't have the torsional rigidity to open very many beers, but at $11 a pair it doesn't really matter. :D

Actually, it's more like flexural strength, flexural modulus, etc..

Cool website. I was thinking torsional, because the flexural deformation that the sole of the sandal undergoes while opening the beer is of a twisting nature.
