Don't forget the meeting this Wednesday. You can pay your 2009 dues of $60 at the meeting. We understand times are a bit tough for everyone and if you need to wait a couple of months, we can wait.

I shorted the club 1.74 for my 09 dues because I can't read or add very well, but I am a hell of a rookie driver...

Thank goodness you do not have to take a test to join this club.....hahaha

Update

If you are paying your 2009 dues via PayPal, please send $62.10

I have been looking and PayPal is charging a $2.10 fee on each transaction ($1.80 for the 2.9% + $.30). Not a huge deal but every penny counts :thumb: :hill:

Not sure. We need to see if they have raised their rates. The calculation has been accurate in the past.

It seems to add up ok with the PayPal rounding...

OLD:
$62.04 * 2.9% = $1.80 ($1.79916)
$1.80 + $.30 = $2.10
$62.04 - $2.10 = $59.94

NEW:
$62.10 * 2.9% = $1.80 ($1.8009)
$1.80 + $.30 = $2.10
$62.10 - $2.10 = $60.00


I know...It's only $.06 per transaction but over 80 members that adds up to...well to almost $5 :hill:

I just like nice even round numbers...Save yourselves the $2.10 and bring a check to the next meeting if you haven't already paid!! :D

I see the problem with my calculations. PayPal takes 2.9% of the total, not 2.9% of the amount that you want to end up with. By calculating based off the amount that you want to send, the amount is always slightly less than it should be, with the error getting larger as the numbers get bigger.

I found this calculator online:

If you use the Reverse PayPal Fee Calculator, it calculates this correctly, and comes up with $62.10.

Anyone have this formula, so I can update the RS PayPal web page?

I got no skillz but it appears that if we use 3% + the $.30 fee to calculate the total to be paid it comes out right for transactions of $20 to $100. Comes up a penny short for transactions of $20 or less. Comes up about a penny high for transactions over $100, 2 cents for over $200, and so on (give or take). Call the extra .01% an additional convenience fee for using PayPal :)

See the attached spreadsheet and be amazed by my Excel skillz...:lmao:

PLEASE NOTE:

Around the end of March I will be sending a list of current members as well as the dues payment for both the CoA4WDCi and United to the CoA4WDCi for said current members. In the past we have sent the list and $$ in later in the year allowing everyone ample time to renew. However, the Association prefers the clubs to send the list and $$ in earlier rather than later. I believe their request this year is for dues to be paid by 4/15 so I will try to verify that.

If you would like to be included and you have not yet renewed, please be sure to pay your dues sometime between now and the end of March at either the February or March meeting or via PP ($62.10).

If you are sending in a check (and won't be at the April meeting), it would be quicker to just send the checks (made payable to Rising Sun 4WD Club) direct to me at my home address. Check the roster on the members only page for the address or I can PM it to you. :thumb:

Just so you all know, the TLCA bylaws also cover one membership for immediate family. I use the same number for my kids and me when registering fo a TLCA event
