View Full Version : Advice: Local rental management companies?

Having recently lost my job, I've been strongly entertaining the notion of moving out West (bay area) to go where the jobs are. Unfortunately, The current market makes it impossible for me to sell without losing money or going into a short sell situation. Not something I want to do.

I'm now looking into the option of renting my place out, but I need the security of having someone local to take car of anything that may come up.

Does anybody here have experience with such companies and know what the going rates are?

That is what I do! Right now is a bad time in this market. A very high percentage of renters right now are not trust worthy and the Phantoms (seemingly good tenants disappear without trace along with appliances, light bulbs, etc over night) are at an all time high! If you can get someone like a good neighbor or relative that lives close enough to watch the place like a hawk that would be you best option! Financially, people are in trouble and resorting to desperate measures....sad but true! Wish I didn't sound so dismal but I'm really feeling the declining economy crunch right now in a profession that is usually pretty dang strong.
