From Adam Mehlberg-
Welcome to the Adopt-A-Road email list. If you do not want to be on this
email list please reply to 3jeeps@frii.com stating such. If you know of
others that would like to be on this list have them contact me to be added.

Adopt-A-Road Update
It is the beginning of the year and the adopt-a-road and volunteer
project hours have been totaled for 2008. You can find an updated chart
on the Hightrails web site at http://www.hightrails.org/adopt_hours.html
The hours are collected up until September 16th each year. This gives me
time to create the final report and send it to the Forest Service and
BLM offices prior to their end of fiscal year which is the last day of
September. The Forest Service and BLM will use our volunteer hours in
their reports back to the main offices in Washington as part of the
national donation of volunteer time put in on the public lands.

Each time your club or group does a volunteer project or adopt-a-road
project someone should enter the hours on the Hightrails web page at
http://www.hightrails.org/vol_hours.html or someone can print the
printable page and mail it to me at Adam Mehlberg, 4562 S. CR29,
Loveland, CO 80537, or call me at 970-669-6979 and tell me the project
name, public lands you worked on, date, number of volunteers and hours
for each day. Remember that the drive time to and from the project counts.
You can also document hours your club members meet with the public land
agencies to do planning for on the ground projects, or time spent
interfacing with the public as a volunteer for the Forest Service or
BLM. You may also document hours for hosting 4WD roads and running trail
patrols.
It is important to get all of our volunteer hours documented and
publicized to accurately represent the amount of time our clubs spend
supporting the public lands.

Thanks for your volunteer efforts.

Adam Mehlberg
CoA4WDCi Adopt-A-Road Chairman

(I will be sending emails out during the year with updates and
information on our efforts to support our public lands)

So basically 08 is done as far as reporting and '09 is underway and hour logs end 9/16/09. Did I get the gist of that? :homer:
