FYI - If you haven't been to 5 guys for a burger your missing out. All you west coasters can brag about in and out and fat burger but you need to try our east coast burgers. IMHO the fries are better than the burger. It's off south parker and ~havana

Anyone watch man vs food? they were in denver filming. I've never been to the place that has the 7 lb burrito.

I was watching the pittsburg episode and man i'm craving a primanit bros sandwich. I've been there a couple times. Good stuff

Post your great off the beaten path lunch places.

Commonniello's Deli, 120th & Pecos. Used to be I could walk there, but we moved 2 years ago so I have to drive back sometimes. Great sandwiches, soups, really nice people who own/run the joint. And sometimes you'll run into Treeroot if you go there Fridays, which is meatball day.

Snarfs - 55th and Arapahoe in Boulder.:thumb:

My Brothers Bar - Next to the REI flagship (although it was there long before REI came....). Anything on the menu, and a Guinness.

I highly recommend the 404 Club at 404 Broadway. It's a absolute dive ran by an older couple. They have awesome lunch specials where you can get a huge steak for $5-8. Your side dishes might leave you wanting, but the meat is always cooked perfectly.

Brewery Bar @ 1st and Kalamath. "Mexican" food with plenty of pizzaz. Down the hill from me in NW Denver is La Cocinita, also Mexican, that is super cheap and while not the most exciting fare, always fresh and filling. A typical three item combo is less than $6 and beer is cheaper than anywhere else too.

ditto on my brothers bar. used to be a weekend staple for me and the parental unit when they lived here almost 20 years ago. another great restaurant, not sure if they're open for lunch though, is rioja. discovered it when my parents were out last fall. it's where josephina's used to be.

Be sure to get there before 12:45. They serve good, fresh vittles but when it is gone there won't be anymore until the next day.:D

Ahem, indeed, Matt. For those of us going to the BB II for more than 30 years, there is only one Brewery Bar and this is the one. The original BB was at the Tivoli Brewery but closed when the Tivoli did. There is also a BB III, near Park Meadows and maybe even a BB IV but it (they) just aren't the same as the 1st and Kalamath location. The green chili here will make you sweat on a good day. You can tell when the chili cook is mad at his wife, he puts extra hot chili peppers in the mix. ;)
