As the title says it would be really slow, but the miles seem decent and the price seems decent especially after some negotiation.

What do you guys think?

I think you should stop creating a new thread for every rig you want an opinion on... ;)

Seems almost too cheap for the mileage and condition. If you're ok with slow, 60's have lots more room inside. :thumb:

Its true. Just looking for the best condition at this point. I guess I'll see if I can check this one out just to see if its so slow its unbearable hehe.

Do all 91s have locking diffs or is it optional like it is on other 80s?

Factory Axle Diff locks are NOT an option on 91-92. They do have a switch on the dash for the Center Diff Lock, that was eliminated on the 93 up and it locks only in Low range. You can add the factory switch to the later models.

Called him. Body is in good shape. Only problem is he thinks it needs a new transfer case because it clunks between 2nd and 3rd gear (that doesnt follow for me). He has a new transfer case in the trunk the last owner gave him. I'd say it sounds more like it needs a tranny. Also it does not have lockers. He wont be very negotiable on price because he paid 3500 for it not that long ago - or so he says.

Thanks :)

There are many, many reasons not to buy a 1991-1992 FJ80. Especially in Colorado, where the air is thin and the underpowered engine will be even more so. Didn't we school you on this in another thread?

Seems like a good deal to me. Built and ready to go. It'll cost you a lot more to do it bit by bit. But if you're really only going to use it for hauling stuff to work that's a different story.
