I've had EFi junk for a couple of years now, and I decided to finally dive in to swap...got my new head all re-done in preparation(old one is missing a couple of intake bosses and I'm pretty positive the pistons come up to far....looks like I need a new bottom end to go with the top end:(

bummer cause it ran perfect too.

I don't seem to have a lot of luck with this lately:mad:

yota yard is now owned by jims ex wife and yes, she thinks her stuff is gold.

jim sells stuff at great prices.

talked to him today, thanks.

not sure if I want to buy a core and do a minimal clean/bearings re-build or get a supposedly running and drop it in :confused:

guess I will start comparing prices :(

Not sure what you want to mate with which, but it looks like you have a
1) old school, early 22RE block ('84--), and a
2) newer style, 22RE head ('85++).

They won't go together. The pistons are designed for the earlier compression chamber design. But IIRC, you can hang the EFI stuff on the older head. Not done it, could be wrong.

+1 on Jim. He delights in undercutting his ex. Can't imagine why! :lmao:

you are correct Bill, didn't realize the block was an incompatible older style until I pulled the old head off. Everything out there says you can hang the EFI on the old head...not this one, its missing a couple of the bosses for a couple of upper intake bolts.
