Any condition will do. I'm looking for more leg and head room in my '80, not doing a restoration...

Thanks!

Saw this rig on CL. The leather Celica seats look like a good fit in a first gen. I would be tempted to pick this up as a parts rig if I had the cash.

Hmm, Martin, those might work -- hadn't even considered leather. I'm long in the leg and the thickness of the lumbar pad makes all the difference. I'll contact the seller to at least find out what Celica they came from.

If you pick up the whole rig, I'm sure I could throw in for some parts. I think I might be needing a new trans/TC for my 82. That bed looks pretty solid too and I could use the 22R carb. If those Leather seats are too "thick" I have stock buckets in my '82 that I could possibly swap out. I also need a windshield... Maybe I should just buy it. :hill:

Here's the email I got from the seller awhile back:

"There are only a couple spots of rust on the body that can easily be sanded out then bondod, I was not the owner of the truck when it was primered, but I do have all of the paperwork including the treatments that they did when they primered it. They redid the cab floor with rhino liner it is very sturdy.
The truck is a 5 speed it always shifted fine, the clutch was replaced during the rebuild, that info is also in the paperwork.
The engine is complete, including the carburetor, some of the parts have been taken off the engine, but it is easy to put back together, the only thing missing from the truck is an e-Brake and the exhaust header and pipe that goes to the catalytic converter, it is pretty inexpensive and easy to hook up, just a couple of bolts. The paperwork also says that they overhauled the carburetor. The tires have about %40 tread left, yes it has power steering.
It is a great truck, it just needs a head gasket and to be put back together.
Let me know"

I have no place to store it but if you decide to buy it and want to do some horse trading, keep me in mind. I'm not in a hurry. I want to have the seats swapped in time for an eastern Oregon wilderness trek in 2010 where I will not be the only driver.

Well I dunno, seems to be a mystery...
This motor is burning some coolant right now, and I am not sure why.

:lmao:

Lessee... ARP head studs, MLS headgasket, and it is STILL burning coolant. Uh... did he by chance miss checking the block deck?

It is almost certain to need a decking, but it is still a good deal. Them there Garrett turbos ain't cheap. Assuming it ain't been starved.

I'm happy to report that Trevor's old seats are now happily anchored in my truck. Thanks Trevor! And thanks to Dean for the suggestion. I gained about an inch of headroom and significant legroom. Ahhhhhh......
