I saw a few posts on here recently from RS members about getting layed off. Well as of today you can add me to the list (Along with about 1,500 other Sun employees who got schwacked)
The exit packages are pretty good so I can't really complain. And based on the carnage, I think I'm happier to be gone rather than stick around and have to clean up the mess!
More time for fun just in time for Spring!

Good luck. I suggest checking out the school districts where you live for jobs. I work for DPS and there always seems to be changes with people and openings at different levels.

I got to Sun by way of acquisition of StorageTek. At SunFed I was an account manager covering USDA and DOI. Great job, great products; not so great processess/company

All of us unemployed dudes should start a company. ;)
I'm thinking brewery. Even in a down economy, people still drink good  :thumb:
WildBlue is hiring (http://wildblue.com/company/careerListings.jsp). :) If you see something you wish to apply for, let me know so I can "refer" you.

There are a bunch of Sun EEs that come to the Louisville dog park and several got the axe yesterday, but some did not. Until today. I guess they ran out of time to notify everyone yesterday, so a bunch thought they were safe until the notices started coming again today. Bastards!

I would look into AT&T too. We acquired a portion of the IBM division in boulder some time ago. might be something there. Unfortunately, there is nothing in sales that I know of in Colorado, except for maybe some government in the springs, and that has some very specific requirements.
Not affiliated, but I thought I would post this email I just received:
