View Full Version : Got color?

This is way out there for me to ask for help but I need ideas. Wild Rice is getting close to being ready to thrash again. I decided it needs color. I was going to paint it Moonglow Pearl but I am tired of Gray's. The color that has been leading the charge recently is FJC Black Cherry Pearl. Being a trail rig dents and scrapes happen so painting it a dark color just make no sense at all and Black Cherry is way to purple when it's dirty! I will not paint it an M&M color and I'm am overly anal about being unique which leaves out Biege and White. I love Seafoam on 40's but since Jerry is my best buddy and he is a green fanatic I wont step on his toes. Champagne is in the suggestion pool but doesn't thrill me. BTW....gotta be a Toyota/Lexus/Scion color! :dunno:

calliing that m&m is a stretch to my eyes, look at the linked gallery, but I hear ya. To me mineral blue is darker than smurf, darker than melt-in-yer-mouth. Would a metallic green step on Jerry's toes?

mix something up.

Start with the FJC cherry (which I'm not crazy about, but who cares) and darken it up a bit.

I think you gotta pick your battles. Dark will show scratches, light will show the dirt. Personally I like darker. Tan is too common.

Ever considered getting some airbrush done? Like a "ghost" logo of your personal design? Something that is just visible in the right angle of the light? I've seen some pretty cool work. I'm thinking a "WR" in a cool font on both sides, maybe just above the front fenders right in front of the door.

I know you want toyota color, but a variation on it could be really cool and unique.

It'd take you a bit to mix the paint, for the unique look, but beyond that, no more time than rustoleum spray.

As for the air brush, thats why I suggested just over the rear of the front fenders. Its nearly impossible to destroy that, and it looks different.

Anyway, they're only suggestions.
