View Full Version : My Daughter is Now a 60 Owner

My daughter came home from the hospital when she was first born in a 40, our only family car for many years.

She learned to drive in a 40.

When she got her license, she didn't want to be "just like Dad" and drive a cruiser, but liked Toyota 4x4s, so she got an 85 4Runner.

Her Chrysler Sebering gave up the ghost last week, and fixing it will be more than the car is worth.

So today she bought her grandfather's FJ60 (he got it from Rising Sun member Chris Hatfield). This rig has parts from Kevin Erlick's 60, too.

We followed each other home from where it was stored in BFE 20 miles from Byers today. The rig had been sitting for 2 years. A jump and a spray of ether, and she jumped to life. I think the 60 is happy. My daughter likes her new ride.

Happy cruisin'!

That's cool. Sometimes I speculate on the possibility of myself or my horned offspring driving 60's - 80's era cruisers 20 or 40 years from now. :)

Excellent, but like Hatfield inquired - where are the pictures?

Yes, that's the rig. That photo was taken before I repaired the body damage with parts from Kevin's parts rig.

The photos below are from I repaired it back in November of 2006. I didn't take a camera with me Saturday when we went to go pick it up.

After we got it running and turned it back off, we checked fluid levels and it took 8 qts of oil!!! I'm thinking drain plug gasket. She'll certainly need some attention, but she's a tough old beast and I'm sure she'll serve Jenniee better than that POS Sebering.
