Windshield crack
1 Attachment(s)
I was hoping to get a read on my windshield crack before I get to Moab and get flagged in the safety inspection. I've got a crack about 4" up from the bottom of the windshield that runs the length. I'm trying to hold off replacing it until early summer to hopefully avoid all the rocks and gravel on the road this time of year. Is this crack going to be an issue at tech inspection?

Thanks! :)

I have the same crack in my 100 and have cleared inspection 2 years running.
As long as it does not look like a danger and is not obscuring your vision, I wouldn't worry to much.

Adam, I sent you a direct reply to your email from registration@cruisemoab.com, and copied Art Volmer, safety inspection chair for Cruise Moab. As I wrote there, the requirement uses the term "dangerous cracks" which is subjective and up to the inspector.

I had a crack all the way across the windshield last year, and it wasn't deemed "dangerous" and passed inspection

I have about a 3" crack in my windshield that I'm expecting will grow exponentially during Cruise Moab.....

Any windshield replacement shop recommendations?

We have used Blue Ribbon auto glass a few times and he's been good. His name is Rusty if I recall correctly..

Nice dude, one man show, cares about what he does. Did a windshield in our jetta and my 60 and they are both just dandy.

I'm also seeking someone good, the 100's are notorious for bad and hacked up installs so we do need a local go to. An independent with an eye for detail may be the way to go.
