WFTW Buena Vista
There were probably 35 - 40 rigs total and they were split out into groups of 10 or so. I went with the Chinaman's Gulch group. We had a blast and a great BBQ afterwards.
The only vets there were ones who brought their own rigs, so we had 1 Korean vet (75yo and still wheelin!) and quite a few Vietnam, Desert Storm and lots of Iraqi Freedom vets.
The organizers said the problem for getting the recently wounded vets up was lack of special transportation from Ft. Carson. They plan to do the event next year and arrange for buses and such to get the recently wounded up there for rides.
There were tons of *eeps, the Blue Mule, Red Chili, 2 FJC's, a Tundra, a Tacoma and 2 Toyota truggies so the brand was well represented.
Dee had her new camera with her so I'll see if we can post up some of the shots, it does video too. Rumor has it there were some shots of the Mule doing another wheel stand on the waterfall............
Great to hear that there were enough trucks out there. Eric told me it would be OK but I still worried. Well Randy looks like it is up to you guys to post some pics for us to enjoy.
What's up with the wheel stands????
Randy's next mod: longer wheelbase and trimmed fenders in the rear! :lmao:
If I get a moment I will download the pix from my camera. They could learn from Cheeseman about managing large groups on the more difficult trails, I was at the back on Iron Chest - let's just say I knew what to expect and caught up on my weekend re-lax-ation.
I offered our club's experience in putting on Cruise Moab if we can help in any way. Eric was excited to contact us when the dust settles.
Longer wheelbase (+ 3.5") for sure!
Heres the link to everyones photos from the run
