Well about a year ago I bought a 97' 4runner as a DD. still is my DD but it is a little bit of a weekend warrior too!

in my original thread showing when I got it, everyone was telling me to mod it. Well you guys got to me, and over the course of a year I did some work to it. now I REALLY like it.

mods include

running board delete
Chrome fender trim delete
painted wheels black
3" OME Lift
285/75/16 BF Goodrich A/Ts

and thats about it. Probably going to regear next so I can continue to get good gas mileage.

But anyways heres some pictures! before and after!

Looks great. Time for some sliders. Keep in mind how long it will take to break even on gas savings vs. gear swap cost. If you can live with the slight reduced power of 285's, I'd keep the gears stock.

go for the best of both worlds and watch for used gears. ;)

Since were on the subject, do 4cyl 4runners have lower ratios?

I've seen that truck around school, figured it was probably you max :thumb:

Thought it was a V6. You can get gears for that no prob.

Bummer, that would have been a nice easy swap...

Bikeman- it is a V6, I was just wondering if 4cyl. had lower ratios in the diffs
