tacoma mic holder

DougDad (my dad) was tired of his mic bouncing around the cab of his truck. He has a NakMan Special mic holder, but no dash holes left to install it.

The perfect place for him is right about where the AIRBAG key switch is.

So, he got a blank key and we made this:

He might trim down the lucite and remount the mic to the FRONT of the adapter.

This is very much a first time prototype. With more time and better materials, we could probably come up with a more elegant, less homebrew lookin' mic holder.

That's pretty cool.

The airbag will be the thing accelerating the key/Lucite/mic/holder into your passenger's forehead during a crash. :-) Personally I'd have drilled a couple of holes and screwed the sucker down. But then again I wreck a lot and so the only stuff not bolted down in my truck are nice, soft blankets.

Hey Stephen, thanks for posting this up on the board. Good pics too. So far so good. Easy to grab and pretty much out of the way. Will modify the unit so the mike is 90 from the position shown. May be a little bit easier to grab.
Now to figure out where to mount a remote speaker.
