This is my current mobile radio and the one that will be getting replaced. It's a few years old but has only ever been in my truck or basement. I have the split kit for it (I run it face separated from the body). Both sides work, no issues, no damage. It's not pristine but in very good shape. It's getting replaced for features, not functionality. Programmed for Denver, Colorado Connection and a few Utah repeaters but be happy to reprogram.

The one major repair I had to do was to replace the right side volume/squelch/power knob because of a sheared shaft. That was about 2 years ago, so the repair has been fully tested. :-)

I've got all the original manuals, boxes and what-not.

Hey Dave, definitely interested in the amp. Just picked up a VX-7R, so this sounds perfect. Will send a PM shortly.

Dave I need a new antenna for my 8800 if you have anything. The plastic base broke on mine.

Would the FT-1500 be a good radio for a FJ40? Not that I actually ever really get the 40 out and drive it, but I've been thinking about putting a radio in it...

Just not sure about what you have vs. say a FT-1900 or even the FT-2900

Of course I'd prefer to put the FT-8800 in there because I love the dual band but I know it's been discussed that the FJ40 environment is too harsh for such a radio :(

So no antenna's??

Thanks Dave! Good info

Sounds like the better use for this little guy is what you were using it for vs. slapping it in a 40 :hill:

I think it'd be perfect in a 40....

no mess, no fuss.... little..... 50w output.....

dang, it makes me want it a little bit.
