Loch Lomond lake

Can you drive up to (or close to ) this lake near the town of Alice up near St. Mary's Glacier?

Would like to take my brother-in-law up there one time this week.

UPDATE: found it on traildamage.com - anybody been up there lately?

Yup just a couple of weeks ago. Fall River road after Idaho Springs. Then Turn left at the line of Mail boxes just before you get to St. Mary's. go past the houses and then the Forest road will be on your right. Not a difficult trail at all but rocky. That is the only reason I air down. Yes you can drive right up to the lake. Take a fishing rod and maybe a canoe and relax. There is a hiking trail on the south side of the lake to the falls and it does continue to the two lakes above the falls if you want to go for a hike. This a pretty short drive that takes about 20 min or so from the FS turn off to the lake. So enjoy.

Want a little more adventure? Run Kingston from the Rollinsville side, then look down on the lake from the rock house. When you get down to Alice, hang a right... It'll be obvious since you just saw it all from up top. all that would only add an hour or so.... :)

I would agree. This has become one of my favorite trails.
