I can't wait to see the pictures. Two of the coolest things ever. (Toyotas and space stuff)

I think was was really funny, when I clicked the link there were two GMC banners surrounding the article.

I saw that in the news (Yahoo via AP I think) a couple days back. Apparently the Tundra is bone-stock, but the Toyota folks have been working like heck to make sure there won't be any embarrassment. I wonder how much they're paying to get this publicity stunt?

The local Toyota dealership here has flyers for the event on display.

And yet another reason why I need to buy a Tundra.

Tundra tow

Okay, can someone explain how a 'specially designed towing rig' can allow a Tundra to tow 300k pounds? I see how the rig can minimize / control tongue weight- but the Tundra still presumably has to accelerate the load to towing speed, and then overcome friction to keep it there.

Seem pretty doable with the tundra in low range, tranny cooler, and nice hard tires on the tow dolly.

I bet an FJ40 could do it.

Pulling it isn't an issue. I want to see them get to highway speeds and try to stop :)
