snatch block ?'s

I don't cary a snatch block and know I should. What brand, rated duty, and where should I buy it from? I'll do mail order as I live in Vail, (shop locally, sure if you need a fur coat) Rig est weight is 7000lbs dry. Winch is Warn xd9000. I think I want 1500lbs min rating. I've read the winch info from Pirate on winching, but don't recall the article giving any brand advice. What if any do you use? Of course I'm buying it so that I never have to use it.

I've got the $50 one from Slee.

Haven't used it yet, but I presume it'll do the job when called upon.

Id get the biggest ya can, most of the time you wont use it on yourself, you never know how much the other guy is going to weigh, that needs to be pulled out.

1500lbs sounds light. For that matter, with your truck that 9K winch sounds light.

Like I should talk- once, the 9.5K winch sounded just right for the Chili. Then I welded on a steelyard, and ....

I wonder too as I should buy one.
does one really need the heavy duty type of blocks on the right for wheelin or does the standard one (left) work for 99% of the uses? Link to warn http://warn.com/truck/accessories/ri...essories.shtml

I already owned the winch when I got the truck.
9k is better than no winch.
I mostly wheel with you guys.
I have it more to rescue others than self.
Most trail rigs are lighter than me.
I don't do mud.

I'm not sure that the 1750lbs from Slee is "heavy duty" enough
Wes I think the regular duty warn is fine for 99%, 100 weigh more than 99%

I would never use one rated under the capacity of the winch... I keep seeing numbers like 1500lbs, 1750lbs, etc... I'd be willing to bet that you mean 15000lb & 17500lbs... The ARB snatchblock (such as the one on SLEE's site) is 30,000 lbs :thumb:

Oops.. droped a 0 I meant 15000 lbs. So is 17500lbs enough?
