Fluid heat riser

This is posted on mud also and I haven't had much of a response yet. I am adding some headers to rid of my exhaust leak woes and replace some old with new parts. Also intended on this next project is a fluid heat riser. Both haven't arrived yet but I have been trying to get some info on the riser install. My 40 has a 2f from a 1980 something fj60. This engine has the oil cooler. I understand how this thing works and its location under the intake. But where does it tap into the cooling system at? And I need some pics to help me grasp this please.

Found these on mud after a little search. Looks like they are coming off the block at the hose inlet. Good luck!

Thanks, I saw those pics. And maybe it doesn't matter where I hook up at as long as one line is cool and the other is warmer.

just hook it up inline with the outlet on the head so it gets the warmest coolant.

so:

unhook line to water outlet on head, rout it to heat riser, then add a piece of hose from the heat riser to head outlet.

Cool? Warmer? I don't have a fluid heat riser, but I've always understood the point is to help warm the intake on those cold mornings. This is used when running headers because the stock bimetal flapper is removed. So, that being said it will get cooler via heat transfer by contact with the intake, but not to any appreciable degree. Just plumb it right off the hose and get after it, I think you'll be fine.
