The aisan Carburetor jets sizes ???

Hi to all,

i am new in this forum,
i clean and rebuild my 1978 FJ40 aisan Carburetor,
i remove all Main jets and slow jets and want replace with new one,
but i forget which jets are primary and which are Secondary ?

in my rebuild carb kit there are these jet sizes:

Main jets: with 200, 180, 138,132 number,

Slow jets: only one jet with 65 number
this means that Secondary slow jet not necessary to replaced ?!

what are the best main jet and slow jet sizes for best performance?

Thanks...

You don't need to replace your jets unless they're mangled (from failed attempts at removal) or wrong. They are not a wear component. Chances are the jets that were in the carb are closer than those in the rebuild kit. Additionally, there should be two slows. The primaries mains will be smaller than the secondary mains, the primary slow will be the same size or smaller compared to the secondary, etc. You may also have a set for altitude (though I think the plug spares stopped before '78. Don't forget power jets (which don't seem to be listed in your collection).

Doh!

Primary would have been 1.36 (1.24 for Cal. Spec)
Secondary wouuld be 1.71 for Fed/Cal and 1.38-1.44 for high altitude

Thanks dear,
my location elevation is about 5,380ft,

in my rebuild carb kit there are these jet sizes:

Main jets: with 200, 180, 138,132 number,

Slow jets: only one jet with 65 number
this means that Secondary slow jet not necessary to replaced ?!

in my rebuild i use 138 for first main jet and 180 for Secondary main jet
and 65 for first slow jet and 90 for Secondary slow jet !!!
