My GMAC loan was transferred to Ocwen as of Feb 16th. The only part I have read is that Ally took all of the profitable loans and saddled the now bankrupt GMAC with the rest.

OCWEN = :scold: :banghead: :dunno: :bolt:

Keep records of all payments, any calls you might have, and all statement, and pay timely.

I'm probably the last person you wanted to hear that from.

This makes me wonder, I am refiing my GMAC loan right now. 15 year. 2 1/2 % less interest, and saving $100 amonth on payment.

that's the kind of stuff i'm hearing. the guy who helped me build my 68 fj40 had to go to court because they were accusing him of missing payments. his wife said their customer service was horrible to deal with. they heard rumors they were tied to the mob. the company is notorious for shipping all the labor overseas. i found where they were investigated on numerous cases of mortgage fraud.

any here have any suggestions for a reputable company that won't sell my loan to ocwen? i'm looking to refi again (guessing treeroot might be too):(

^^^this

the underwriters are a big pain now post-housing-meltdown....

I had to write a letter that I had no interest in the home I grew up in,
and despite the fact that I share a name with the man, I didn't buy a car I stopped paying on in 7 years ago in Minnesota ....

but other than that it was painless.

x3 on Dallas

That said, unless you refi with a major lender/bank that don't (typically) sell their loans, you will always run risk of having your loan sold and you have no control over who your loan is sold to.
