Gone fishing

A Hunting and Fishing sub-forum should probably have a thread where we can post up photos of guys with fish, the pretty places the fishing occurs and the vehicles that take us to our fishing holes - shouldn't it:D?

I do quite a bit of fly fishing but don't often take a camera along and even when I do have the camera, I often forget to break it out.

This past Sunday I was on the South Platte and my buddy had the camera.

Anybody remember this poster from back in the day (aka the 70's)?

PS - Good idea Ricardo. I love to see what guys manage to yank out of the river.

Now we're talking..... I've got some fish porn I'll post up tomorrow.

And..... I'm leaving for a week on the Bighorn 2 days after I get back from Moab. That's a pretty sweet first two weeks of May!

I'm not too up on fish, but is that a Walleye?

When I was a kid, I used to call them "Lolleyes"

Yea that's a walleye. Biggest one I have ever caught in 36 yrs and I put her back in the water.

I think I may be reposting these, but they're fish of a lifetime for me so it's worth reposting. All were released.

The first bow measured right at 25", didn't get a weight cause I wanted to let her go. Size 20 RS-2 on 5X. The picture just doesn't do that fish ANY justice. You can see how small my fingers look compared to the next few pics. This was truly a once in a lifetime fish.

The monster brown was taken on a fly I tie called Orange Sherbet. Size 14 custom hook on 4X. You can see the fly right in the corner of it's mouth.

The last pic is of a male brown that is ready to battle. HUGE tail, shoulders and kype jaw. A beautiful healthy brown trout from a good ecosystem. Size 16Orange Sherbet.

Tom, I could take you right to it:D. The South Platte can be challenging. The fish seem to move around. The ease of catching them seems to vary as well. I talked to a guy on Sunday who only caught a couple but the week before had caught about 20 in the same stretch of water. :dunno:
