At Last!

WOOT!
I love the smell of new tires. :thumb::D:thumb:

I finally bit the bullet and got a new set of BFG A/T 285-75-R16 today.

After having gone through two sets of Firestone tires, one M/T and one A/T, I can say with good certainty that I will be sticking with the BFGs from now on, in one form or another.

Nice!

Pics or it didn't happen ;)

I'm loving my 285's. I opted to go with the factory wheels, so I got some 1/2" spacers and some early 03 matrix wheels studs (1/2" longer), for the front wheels. The 285's look pretty good, though not as big as I'd prefer, but still maintain streetability and reliability on the IFS.

I agree, pics are needed!

Here ya go. The proof is in the pudding. Or in this case, the proof is at the top of North Twin Cone Peak. :D

I thought the same thing when I first got these. I was thinking, man, I should have gotten the 35s. But turns out that even with a 4" lift, I actually ended up rubbing a little going up North Twin Cone Peak this afternoon. Not bad mind you, only while flexing quite a bit. Overall, I'm very pleased with these tires. I've always been a fan of the BFGs, they're a quality tire. :thumb:
My MPG will suffer with these 285s, but I'm not really worried about that. MPG is the last thing on my priority list with this truck. I knew it wasn't going to be great, from the start. I am loving the extra ground clearance with them though. I only hit a skid plate twice today. :lmao:

Looks like you are running aftermarket wheels too. That'll do it. I was running Steve's classic MT's, but I just liked the factory look better. Nice work though! I still gotta work my fenders to avoid rubbing, as I only have 2".

I agree, the AT's are a good tire. Here are a set of 33's on Holy Cross. Ran them for a long time on my old truck.

Nice.
That looks more like, "holy crap!"
Please tell me that was the "difficult" path, and there's an easier one....

Sorta. It changes week to week. Usually the left side is a bit nicer, but not always. It depends on where the rocks have moved and where holes have been dug out by tires.
