Ham Operators: Introduce yourselves here.

Hey All! KDWFO Reporting for duty! Just passed my Technician exam after about two years of putting it off. Huge thanks to the three VEs who facilitated testing at this year's FJ Summit! We are already planning on making Amateur Radio a big part of next year's event with classes, testing and a solid base station setup. There is even talk of some sweet APRS tracking. I thought a sticky introduction thread might be nice to have here. I searched a bit and didn't see anything.

How about Wagon Frame Offender... or maybe Wagon Frame Overloader... :) I'm good for wide open as well. :lmao:

Congrats on going legit and passing the test, looking forward to lots of qso's next weekend! :thumb:

I hear ya. I see it in sigs, I see it in other threads but I have not seen a dedicated thread. Just excited to be part of the "club" ;)

I was surprised to find out my name w/ a zero in the middle was still available, so I took it. Took the test after being introduced to HAM for mobile use by Marco/Rover67/KDGWX

Jon,
Some are a little late to the party, but for HAM guys that seems to be par for the course. Hi hi.

I've taught amateur radio classes for the club for years. Now Dave has taken my place so I can brew beer, but hopefully we're leading the next generation down the right path.
Hope to hear you on the air soon!
