WTB: 78 FJ40 parts

I'm looking for a few parts for my 78.
1. Rear Ambulance Door Upper Header.
2. Front Seats and Headrests.
3. Sun Visors.
4. Front Fenders, rust and bondo free.
5. Dash Pad.
6. OEM Front Bumper.

I realize most of these items are tough to find but thought I'd ask!
Thanks. Doug

Toyota still carries the OEM front bumper for fairly cheap ($180 IIRC); put one on my '76 a few years ago. Fenders are tough to find without bondo. Cool Cruisers seems to have to best set going.

The Cool Cruisers front fenders are the same ones made by Certafit that everyone sells. The slang term for them is "Sortafit". They don't have a good reputation for unit-to-unit uniformity. I read somewhere recently that front fenders are still available from Toyota. I haven't looked into that myself.

For the front seats, most people use buckets out of other vehicles. There are a lot of junkyard choices out there.

Steve Helmreich restored the visors in his pig, they way he described it, it didn't sound too hard and they looked terrific.

Good luck on the dash pad, they are made of unobtainium. I used to have a link to an outfit that made a cover that fit over top of your old, cracked dash pad, but I can't find that link right now.

I too thought that OEM fenders were still available.

This guy has an aftermarket FJ40 dash pad that is popular depending on what you're looking for:

He has a big long thread on MUD about it.

cruisercorps I think sells dash covers and OEM pads

if you buy an OEM pad from cruisercorps make sure you ask them to pack it well. I received 3 totally cracked ones before getting one that was fixable from them. they all cracked due to improper packing.

I tried to order OEM fenders through Toyota recently and I was told they are definitely disco'd.

CCOT is not perfect, but I've heard they are better than the other imported ones out there...who knows.
