Home. My wrists hurt from my Kung-fu like grasp of the steering wheel. My back and neck hurt from all the tensing up I was doing on the descent.

Pictures...... I didn't take one.

Thanks Tim for keeping this great tradition going. It was great to see everyone. I would like to say we had a great time, but being last to start the descent made for a very different trail that what you guys up front experienced. It was like nothing I've ever done before, nor would like to do again. Checked for damage when we pulled in and I'm pretty good. One spot took a hit on the rear quarter panel. The kick-out on the MT sliders kept me mostly out of the trees. The ARB up front has a few good tree deflection marks. The Slee rear even took a sideways sliding tree shot. We literally couldn't do anything on even the slightest incline. Those in front of us who slid and packed the snow tight just made a sheet of ice. I can't believe how fast and out of control we got on some of those descents.

MtnAddict has the real carnage though. Thanks to everyone for pitching in, we had him rolling again in no time. It sure was nice to roll in and have tools at the ready.

Next up..... Run the Gulches!!

I feel much the same way. :D Didn't realize it until I was down at the bottom.

That was a lot of fun. But the decent was very tense. I think I was the 7th or 8th truck down the hill. And I definitely felt the effects of the compacted snow. I can only imagine what it was like for you, Stan.

At one point, I hear a horn honking behind me. And I look in my mirror to see an FJ careening down the ice towards me. Steve is locked up and sliding. He's flooring it in reverse. I instinctually punch it to get out of the way and immediately realize the mistake that I've just made. I slam on the brakes and lock them up. Now I'm sliding out of control down the road. I throw it in reverse and floor it, then let off the break. I was throwing snow and rocks out in front of me a good 15 feet or more. Steve finally lodged on a rock and stopped, and I ended up digging all four tires into holes in the snow and finally stopped. Totally wild, I wish I could have had it all on video. I told steve, I'm gonna have nightmares of his headlights rushing at me.
But these sorts of stories, are exactly why I'm glad I did the run.

I'm really glad everyone made it down safely.
But, what happened to MtnAddict's rig?

I got a couple pics.

looks like a great showing of polks, last year was fun also sorry i missed this one.

bomber22 10-20-2013 11:06 AM

fishy, was the trail rougher then last year? besides the snow, i know that it makes for a much more difficult time. i know the tundra did good last year, being stock that is.

Thanks again everyone for coming out, and for the great attitudes throughout the night. We all got out of there, and home safe.. another Spooky Run in the books! Also thanks to everyone who brought food, there was some great stuff for dinner.

I only took two pics- was too late with the phone to capture Martin in full wheel stand, caught it after he already powered out of the rut. And the proverbial, sleeping kids in the back seat.
