Here we go... Mini Time!
 
The new 4runner is officially "under the knife". P/O did a fantastic job of wiring this rig with wire nuts, loose butt connectors, electrical tape, & even "hand twisted" bare wires. It's amazing that this thing didn't catch on fire!

Step one: pull every wire out, slim down the harness, & replace with fresh wires.

you take any close shots of the wiring? I've never seen wiring that bad before
