FJ Summit #8, July 16-20 Ouray, CO

With snow on the ground, I can't help but ponder warmer days ahead!!

Thought I would toss this out there and get it on your "maybe to attend this year" list of wheeling events.

This is a super fun, family friendly event with all the premier vendors of our hobby attending and supporting, including Toyota, Discount Tire, Metal Tech, Iron Man, Demello, IH8mud, All Pro, Toy Tec, SPC, TRD Parts 4 U, ARB, Safari LTD, etc...

3 meals included in registration fee, killer shwag bag full of goodies, kids shwag bag for all kids registered and the raffle is insane and only for registered attendees..

Some highlights from last year, Bill Burke and Joe Bacal presentations, Friday night Saloon party sponsored by Metal Tech, Toyota world release of new 5th Gen 4runner, vendor nights Wed/Thurs/Sat, night runs....

Of course it is hard to beat Ouray in mid July. Black Bear Pass usually opens a day or two before the event, so plenty of excitement and trails just becoming available in the area..

Registration will open up sometime late March and updates can be found on our Facebook page or FJSummit.org. The event usually fills up within days of registration opening, so if your interested, you would want to hop on it ASAP.

The past few years it has become an all inclusive Toyota 4x4 event, so all Toyota 4x4 models welcome to attend.

Would be awesome to have the 40's run this summer in the area and have as many 40s turn out as possible, I realize it is a hike though, but that would be super cool to see a line of 40s roll into town for the day or attending the event.. We might even be able to offer up a special parking section for any 40s that can make it out there...

Hope to see as many Rising Sun club members as possible this year!

Not sure if I'll register, never have, but I normally make an appearance at some level.

They have been trying to get me to sign up as a vendor for years but there is yet to be much participation outside the FJC crew to date. Last year had a fair share but still looked like 75% or better FJC.

Definitely a well planned and hosted event. Would encourage anyone to attend.

On July 20th The Wild Bunch out of Montrose will be Running Black Bear in Reverse, a special permit will be given to do this trial in Reverse, this is scheduled to to the Colorado State Association of 4 Wheel rive clubs will be having the 3rd quarterly meeting in Uray on July 19th with the Black Bear Run on Sunday.

I only mention this because the trail ( I'm to assume ) will be closed for a short time for this event.

If needed, I can get more info at the next State meeting

I do know they are only allowing 13 rigs for the trip, I will be one of them.
There is $45.00 donation for a local charity
