We are building a 1966 FJ40 for a customer. We are not going to do a lot of body work except replacing the floor. The main idea for the conversion is 3.4 engine, R150 5 speed transmission, T-case with outputs front on the right and rear center. FJ60 axles, FJ62 brake booster, steering column, steering box. Power steering pump original with a 3.4. Lift spring FJ60. That's the plan. Let's see what we come up with.

Continued progress. Engine motor mounts built, transmission cross-member done. We replaced the piece of firewall, cut off from FJ60. That's going to give us exact boltup pattern for brake booster, clutch slave cylinder, and steering column.

So is that mostly 3rd gen 4Runner running gear? This looks really cool!

I am falling in love more every day with my 3.4 I am beginning to realize its a great motor that needs nothing out of the box.
