That's a great idea. When I broke my 4.70 gearset, I replaced the whole rear case as it made the swap really simple. Since you seem to know a thing or two about scope creep :-), building that case...

Not to belabor the obvious, but it'll be slower with one case in high and the other in low, than when that combination is reversed. Slowest engaged case has the 4.70's in it.

If they are installed with the 4.7 gears in the back, you shouldn't have to remove both...
