Correct.... The 98-99 auto locked the center in 4lo. The pin7 mod fixes that.


I make it a point to tell everyone to be totally unlocked for black bear so you can easily make the hairpin turns...

Probably similar to the 80, but if the CDL hasn't been locked in a long time, it will probably lock but not unlock. Stopping and backing up about 10-15 feet and pulling forward again should do it.

If you don't lock it, it doesn't lock itself. Even when you pull down into 4lo.

There is no reason NOT to lock it when you go offroad. And, by not ever locking it, it causes the actuator to seize...

Locking the center diff will allow you to drift and slide without VSC overriding your input. It still corrects itself, but does not cut power AND apply brake which allows you to control the slide.
