Nope, 3.73 is a chebbie thing. 1979-1984 USA spec 40 series and all USA spec FJ60 Land Cruisers have 10 teeth on the pinion and 37 on the ring gear... 3.70

Dunno if there was a USA 1979 FJ55?...

Yes they would be fine on both ends. The birfs will be the (relatively rare) long variety, not to be confused with Longfields. They were only found in 1976-1978 model years of 40s, 45s and 55s.
