Exotic Bodies by Jim - reviews?

Yes it's an automotive repair shop! I'm considering having Jim's shop do a major restoration on my 1976 FJ40 - rust repair, new body panels, paint...the whole shmear. Before I make that investment,...

'72 had drum brakes all around (unless someone modified it), so the pulling is probably due to frozen brake piston(s). Search the IH8MUD forum - brake adjustments are pretty straightforward. ...

Yes, my suspicion is a rear wheel sensor since the E-Brake light is on. Drives fine, brakes fine, no recent brake/tire work. Not sure if ABS is actually working - need to find some ice to play...

100 series brake/electrical weirdness

I started my 2003 100-series this morning, after ~2 weeks sitting, and the
following dash lights came on and stayed on: BRAKE (e-brake), ABS, VSC TRAC, and VSC OFF.

Any ideas?

loose seat - how to tighten?

The front passenger seat in my 2003 100 is rocking, due to the right front
bolt (see pic, it's the large bolt) being loose. However when I put a socket on it, it just spins - it's not catching...

Mountain Bike

I'm doing a similar search - I've narrowed it down to a hard-tail 29er. (For those of you not into mountain bikes, 'hard-tail' means front suspension fork but no rear suspension system, and '29er'...

Test drove it - it's in good shape for a 30 year old car, but still pretty tired. Needs new shocks, new driver seat foam, dash cover, some interior work. A/C not working, reverse slow to engage. ...

emissions testing

My 1976 FJ40 failed the emissions test. I turned the idle up from ~650 to
~900, and it passed. So - as others have noted - if you're concerned, turn the idle screw (not idle mixture screw) up a...

Where's the vent intake for the distributor? If it's similar to my old FJ60 - in the passenger compartment - it seems unlikely that it would see any snow. If however it's in the engine compartment,...

Could snow have gotten into the distributor and caused a temporary short/ground, which went away as soon as the snow evaporated? The spark plugs themselves wouldn't have gotten wet, but the ignition...
