Even with the muffler mod I don't think my 290 will do what I really want a saw to do. I've been getting by but it's overworked.

OK, anyone really like the current Husky 372 XP X-Torq? It's about $150 cheaper. 1/2 HP less in power. Specs has it at the same weight as the MS461. Holding them both in the store with 28" bars...

I'd still skip the manual ad go straight to the TH700R4 and build it with a reversed valve body. That way you can slam it into reverse on a technical climb easier/faster.

Its about the same length...

3' is not super common but stuff like this is pretty regular. They were a little more than the 20" bar could handle in one pass. It just takes all day to fill a trailer full of 12" stuff.

I'd be interested to know what kind of regulation would be included in "recreational management area" and "national historic landscape". Otherwise I don't see much in the way of 4x4 trail closures....
