Measuring the clearance doesn't look too bad. Having the full set of shims on hand to make a change to the clearance is the hard part. This isn't a "turn the adjusting screw" process like a 2F.

Maybe the ground wire is loose? Clip a jumper cable to the ground side of the battery and the other end to the engine block - if that makes it start, I'd be hunting for a loose ground.

I went through something like that on the rear hatch of an FJ60. One of the the tumblers broke inside so the lock was non functional. The assembly is crimped together. With some careful cutting...

Not positive but I think there is a gate blocking the road where it goes from NF to private property. The MVUM shows where the gate is. I've only come in from the Idaho Springs end.
