When I was writing about wood, that was for loudspeaker enclosures, not amp enclosures. PA amp enclosures are always steel (with aluminum heat sinks). Guitar amps are usually wood though.

I've probably plugged at least a half dozen tires over the years. I've never used glue and never had one fail. I carry a plug kit in each on my cruisers.
