I have not used APRS, so I only know about it in abstract. I don't have a GPS receiver. I know Wes has used APRS recently out at Cruise Moab, not sure if anyone else in the club is using it. It's a position reporting system, so yeah that's all it does, but knowing location of others in town or the trail can be leveraged for lots of uses.

"Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security. " --Albert Einstein
